Carping4Heroes is an event that uses carp angling as a means to fundraise for the charity, Help for Heroes. It was the idea of ex soldier and keen carp angler Simon Bangert who had a vision to use the sport to raise money for a charity which supports and helps our wounded soldiers, including himself and friends he has served with. Simon felt that carp angling was the ideal platform to give something back and in early 2011 Carping4Heroes was born, to date the event has raised over £25,000.

The event now runs over a full weekend where various activities are organised for everyone to enjoy and also includes a 24 hour carp angling match with teams entered by the Army, RAF, Royal Navy, Royal Marines and a Civilian team who compete for the 4 trophies that are on offer. Although the event centers around angling, people are encouraged to come along and take part and show their support.

The 2016 event will be held at Manor Farm Lakes in Bedfordshire over the weekend of the 22nd – 24th July and will feature another stellar line up of entertainment, angling superstars and a 24hr match competed for by anglers representing the Army, R.A.F, Royal Navy, M.P.G.S, Civilians and Ex-Military carp teams and as ever a huge raffle and auction to help the fundraising efforts.

Everyone is welcome and it’s free to attend (just buy a raffle strip or two) and more details on the line-up, timings and other details can be found on the flyer, news section or our website here.
